China Report

Promotes the free expression and discussion of different ideas, approaches and viewpoints which assist a better understanding of China and its East Asian neighbours.  A quarterly journal of the Institute of Chinese Studies and launched in 1964.

Contributions to Indian Sociology


The journal presents a diversity of theoretical approaches to the study of society in India. Regular features include research articles, review articles, a 'discussion' section, book reviews and notes. Contributions to Indian Sociology is published three times in a year.

Indian Economic and Social History Review is the foremost journal devoted to the study of the social and economic history of India, and South Asia more generally. The Indian Economic and Social History Review is a quarterly journal.

Studies in History

Studies in History reflects the considerable expansion and diversification that has occurred in historical research in India in recent years. The journal also publishes articles concerning countries other than India.  Studies in History is a Bi-Annually Journal.

Indiastat.com provides an oceanic depth of India-specific socio-economic statistical facts and figures culled from various secondary level authentic sources.  Over half-a-million pages of statistical data have been qualitatively analysed, condensed and presented in a user-friendly format.

JSTOR is one of the scholarly journal archive for providing electronic access to the journals for higher learning academic institutions and research libraries.  JSTOR's collection include many of the important journals in economics, political science, sociology, humanities and social sciences.  The Ford Foundation has chosen our Institute as one of the recipients for institution-wide access to JSTOR's multi-discipline collections for three years.  This facility can be accessed from the following link at MIDS.

EconLit is a database with more than 1 million articles, abstracts and citations mainly on the subjects of economics and to a lesser extent business administration.  It includes coverage of over 400 major journals as well as articles in collective volumes (essays, proceedings, etc.), books, book reviews, dissertations and working papers licensed from the Cambridge University Press. Various publications are full text available. The database contains articles dating back to 1886 and is continuously updated.

Economic Outlook


Economic Outlook provides a comprehensive and integrated view of the Indian economy. Time series on more than a 100,000 indicators are provided in multiple frequencies and in the form of several derivations. All these are presented in intelligently laid-out tabulations. Tabulations are supported with readymade graphics and also a graphing tool. The data can be easily downloaded into spreadsheets or as csv files.
