The Founder's Day Lecture is organised in honour of the founder of MIDS, Dr Malcolm S Adiseshiah (1910-1994).

Dr Mihir Shah is a Member, Planning Commission, Government of India.  He is a co-founder Samaj Pragati Sahayog (SPS), one of India's largest grass-roots initiatives for water and livelihood security, working with its 122 partners across 72 districts in 12 states.
