Every
year the Indian
Council of Social
Science Research (ICSSR)
is sponsoring two
students and one
teaching scholar for
carrying out their Ph.D.
degree in Social
Sciences.
Eligibility:
Doctoral fellowships are
open to persons
preferably below the age
of 35, who have a
Master's degree of a
recognised University
with a first or high
second class with 55% of
marks in Social Science
Degree. Candidates must
have cleared the
National Education Test
(NET) of the UGC [or] M
Phil [or] Two years of
research experience with
publications. The
successful candidate
will have to be
registered under the
supervision of one of
the faculty members of
the Institute.
Area of Research:
Economics / Sociology /
Political Science
Duration: The
duration of the
fellowships for student
category will be for a
maximum period of 3
years and for teaching
scholar will be of 2
years.
Value of the
Fellowship: The
value of the fellowship
for student category is
Rs. 6000 per month and a
contingency grant of Rs
12,000/= per annum.
Salary protection
fellowship will be given
for teaching scholars
for a maximum duration
of two years and will
not be extended under
any circumstances.
