The
Reserve Bank of India
established a Chair in
applied research in
regional economics in
the Institute in 1985
for five years. In 1991
the RBI extended support
to this Unit on a
continuing basis subject
to periodic review.
Since 1993 the RBI has
been granting
fellowships to Ph.D.
scholars, not exceeding
four at a time.
Eligibility:
Doctoral fellowships are
open to persons
preferably below the age
of 35, who have a
Master's degree of a
recognised University
with a first or high
second class with 55% of
marks in Social Science
Degree. The successful
candidate will have to
be registered under the
supervision of one of
the faculty members of
the Institute.
Area of Research:
Economics / Econometrics
Duration: The
duration of the
fellowship will be for a
maximum period of 3
years.
Value of the
Fellowship: The
value of the fellowship
is Rs. 6000 per month
and a contingency grant
of Rs 12,000/= per
annum.
