  • Ethnography of everyday life of the Chennai working class in the 1920s.
  • Popular entertainment and leisure in late nineteenth-century Madras.
  • Editing the collected works of Pudumaippithan (thus far four volumes published; two more are under preparation).
  • Editing the correspondence of U.V. Swaminatha Iyer. First volume published in July 2018. Five more volumes under preparation.
