Certificate Programme in Public Policy and Management
(CPPM) with Malcolm Adiseshiah Fellowship
The CPPM offers public policy education that is designed for navigating present-day development challenges. The six-month intensive programme enables aspiring policymakers join an experienced cohort, gain new perspectives and develop an understanding of how to analyse and navigate the different perspectives on governance. CPPM integrates theory, analysis and implementation of policy.
Programme Objectives
- To impart training for the creation of a pool of professionals for conceiving and implementing rational policies for development
- To build capacity within the government to evaluate and predict possible consequences of policy measures

Programme Structure and Courses
The duration of the CPPM is six months. The programme covers fundamental, competency-related and application courses. The courses offered are meant to impart knowledge and skills to the participants covering the latest concepts, principles and techniques. Faculty from MIDS and distinguished visiting faculty from reputed academic institutions and government would handle these courses.

Programme Delivery
- Six months full-time programme
- Combination of lectures, case studies, field visits and learning-by-doing pedagogy
- Hands-on training to conceive and evaluate policies in policy labs
- Policy-projects with a government department and/or reputed organisations.
Intake: 30 participants
Pedagogy and Assessment
The teaching approach will be highly interactive. The pedagogy followed will be a blend of lectures, case studies, group-discussions, field vists, projects and class presentations.
Evaluation - Continuous assessment
- Seminars, assignments/term papers, presentations, short reports and written exams
- End-term policy project would be evaluated by external experts
Duration of the Course: 6 months - from 1st December 2025 to 31st May 2026.
Cost of the Course:
MIDS will award the Malcolm Adiseshiah Fellowship to each selected candidate, providing Rs. 15,000 per month for six months to cover boarding and lodging expenses. Candidates must pay a one-time course fee of Rs. 6,000 during admission.Minimum Educational Qualifications for Admission:
Anyone with a bachelor's degree or any equivalent graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised institution can apply.

Last Date for Applying: October 1, 2025. Selection of the Candidate: Based on the Written Test and Interview Date of Written Test: 26th October 2025 (Online) Date of Interview: 4th to 6th November 2025 (in Chennai). Date of Joining: 1st December 2025.
